Late Night Wanderings

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010The family knew that Marques had been “living” on borrowed time. But they were never sure how long that was going to be. Years had passed. The twins, Carrie & Mara, had grown from toddlers to young adults. Everyone had become so focused on furthering their dreams and careers that family time had fallen to the way side. The twins no longer needed help with their school work or anything else and Noni had taken her husband’s presence for granted. And so it was that Marq quietly passed on for good.
On Top of the World
Sunday, January 10th, 2010With their new young adult status, Noni and the twins decided to splurge a little with the extra money they had been saving to spruce up Mara and Carrie’s rooms. Once more, Carrie deferred to her younger sister using the same reason that she was never in her room anyway. Although she did choose to decorate the room in colors to match the outdoors as well as adding a plant. The room continued to be a storage room for their childhood toys by an unspoken request. On the other hand, Mara chose to decorate her room in dark colors as her favorite color was black. She repainted the easel to match even. She also wanted a chair so she could study in the seclusion of her own room. Then she made one request to Carrie; Mara wanted a computer. Unfortunately, there was no way one would fit in her tiny room. Since her twin’s room was so sparsely furnished, she asked if a desk and computer could be put in there to be shared by everyone. Reluctantly Carrie agreed, with the stipulation that it match the rest of her room. Noni chose to do a few small things that she felt would make a big difference. First she matched the colors in both bathrooms, instead of having a hodgepodge collection of mismatched fixtures. Finally, she rearranged and added furniture to the living room to make it a more inviting area to entertain guests in. The result was very satisfying.
Accomplishments All Around
Friday, January 8th, 2010Entering high school, Carrie began to buckle down in school as her sister always had. She had aspirations of moving out, getting away from her family that never seemed to care. Many a night after dinner now found the girls seated around the dining room table doing their homework or extra credit work (in Mara’s case).

Carrie’s charisma was pretty high so one of the options a mirror gave her was the following. Pretty cute.
Renovations
Wednesday, January 6th, 2010Once the girls became teenagers, Noni and Marq realized that the twins needed seperate rooms. The single room they had been sharing was much too small for the both of them. And so plans were hastily drawn.

Monday, January 4th, 2010In the blink of an eye Mara and Carrie became children. Noni wondered where all the time was going. Soon it was time for the twins to begin school. Noni was worried about sending them off alone but it was one place she couldn’t accompany them.
Death… becomes him?
Friday, May 29th, 2009Being a single mother was not all it was cracked up to be. Noni found the days blurring into one another until she hardly knew which day was what. The only thing that comforted her was that it seemed as though she could feel Marq’s presence close by, watching over her.
